Detroit Pistons: Analyzing Hooper’s schedule release skit games
Friday March 27, Clippers
This was supposed to be the Lakers year to overtake the Clippers for the first time since the 2011-12 season. However, the Clippers broke the internet and pulled off the most silent and biggest double roster move we’ve ever seen in the NBA.
Kawhi Leonard was signed once the Clippers agreed to get his ideal teammate, Paul George. The 2018-19 NBA MVP candidate (George) was sent back home to the Clippers for Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Danilo Gallinari, and a haul of picks. Those picks are first rounders from Miami in 2021 and 2023, the Clippers own first rounders in 2022, 2024, 2026, and first round pick swaps in 2023 and 2025.
Another elite wing defender, Maurice Harkless was added in the four-team trade between Portland, Miami, and Philadelphia. The Clippers could now put out a line-up of Patrick Beverley, Leonard, George, Harkless, and Montrezl Harrell which would be one of the greatest defensive lineups in history.
Leonard carried the Toronto Raptors to the 2019 NBA Championship and that was with a weaker supporting cast. Now with a legitimate co-star in George, Leonard and the Clippers will become the favorite to win NBA championship in my mind.
It is a must watch to see great NBA basketball in my eyes, so watching outstanding basketball on both sides of the court makes for one of the best games the Pistons will play all year, you have to get down to the Little Caesar’s Arena.
