Pistons sign Tim Frazier

There’s a clear significance of depth at the Pistons point guard spot. Tim Frazier signing a minimum deal with Detroit is evidence of that.

Of course, it leaves questions surrounding what the point guard spot looks like in Detroit’s future. But the immediate help is important.

Frazier is going to be expected to play unlike most third-string point guards. With Rose and Jackson’s injury history, Frazier will be thrust into minutes in an effort to keep them healthy. It’s also a sign that Dwane Casey wants to feature two-point guard lineups more.

GRADE: C+

Frazier is looking for stability, playing for his sixth team in as many seasons. He has a chance to earn that right with minutes up for grabs.

He’ll need to consistently stretch the floor and prove his career-best 36.6 3-point percentage from last season was no fluke.
