Top 20 former Michigan State Spartans to play in the NBA
By Riley Nisbet
15. Bryn Forbes
As a transfer, Bryn Forbes only played two years at Michigan State and only showed considerable success in his second year with the Spartans.
After going undrafted in 2016, Forbes signed with the San Antonio Spurs for Summer League play, eventually earning a two-way contract.
Spending most of his rookie year in the Gatorade League and only averaging 19 minutes per game in his sophomore season, Forbes has had a quiet career so far. However, in 2018-19, his third season, Forbes stepped into a starting role and began to show glimpses of the success he had has a player in his senior season at Michigan State.
Forbes improved his points-per-game average by nearly five full points on nine more minutes per game. His 3-point shooting improved from 39 percent in his sophomore year to 43 percent, on more than two more attempts per game.
It seems that Forbes will be relied on to shoot. However, with notable improvements to his (albeit low) rebounding and assist numbers, Forbes has room to grow if he puts in the work.
