Detroit Pistons forward Blake Griffin has been working on his driving, but not in the way you might think. He drove a cab to promote his comedy.
Blake Griffin has been working on his driving, but not in the way you might think. He recently filmed a special known as “Blake’s Comedy Cab: Montreal Edition” sponsored by Red Bull, prior to him performing at the Montreal Comedy Festival.
This special revolved around the Detroit Pistons star driving unsuspecting people around Montreal as a typical cabbie would, however he decided to make it fun by cracking jokes… oh and also he’s Blake Griffin. This of course leads to hilarious moments of realization, or lack thereof.
The first couple in the video below were amazed at how much he looked like the basketballer that was on Jimmy Fallon recently, and said that if he does a show at Just for Laughs he should include impersonations.

Ever since he’s been a kid, Griffin has gravitated towards comedy as he grew up watching comedy with his Dad. After starting his basketball career in Los Angeles it was a little easier for him to pursue his comedy career with plenty of comedy clubs around. He once said “It’s something down the road, a second career when I’m done playing basketball.”
Since being in Detroit he hasn’t been to any comedy clubs, but he’s still been working on material and has also been working on his production company Mortal Media (which he co-owns with current New York Jets Center Ryan Kalil).
It’s not the first time we’ve seen Griffin on the TV this offseason though, as he was recently featured on The Jimmy Fallon Show.
Personally I love that Blake Griffin is out there doing something he loves in the offseason and having some time to enjoy himself. I’m a strong believer that people will perform better when they’re happy, and that is only a good thing for our Detroit Pistons.
