The Alpha Ginger©, Blake Griffin, had one of his best seasons last year largely because he was able to stay healthy. After playing a combined 154 games from 2015-17, he played 75 games in 2018-19, though it can be argued that he should have played fewer games and minutes. Ideally the Pistons will be able to get the Alpha Ging more rest down the stretch, so he is full strength for the playoff run.

The best-case scenario is his good health continues, he improves upon his 3-point shooting, continues to be a bully in the post and is a legitimate MVP candidate. This team only goes as far as Blake carries them.

It’ll be hard to type this with one hand as I simultaneously knock on wood and spritz holy water on my keyboard. We all know the worst-case scenario here. It can be summarized in two words: Wall, John. The less that is said about this, the better. I’m off to find a wishbone, saw off a rabbit’s leg and frolic in a field of four leaf clovers.
