Burst of excitement

Derrick Rose

You won’t find many players more controversial than Derrick Rose in the league. He has Beyoncé level stans who will Twitter assassinate anyone who dares claim Rose isn’t still a top-five point guard. His off the court issues have gained him a legion of haters, but his 50-point game last year was one of the league’s best stories.

Some would say his best-case scenario is to play so well that Detroit has a point guard controversy and has to send Jackson to the bench or possibly to another team. However, in my opinion, the best-case scenario for Rose is for him to stay healthy, become a volume scorer off the bench, embrace his role and win Sixth Man of the Year.

The worst-case scenario for Rose is that he can’t stay healthy, which has really been the case for his entire career. He has to miss considerable time, which leaves the Pistons thin at point guard, forces another Jose Calderon type disaster where the Pistons have to trade for a player from the local YMCA.
