Predicting the series

Game 1: Nov. 2, 7 p.m. at Little Caesars Arena
Game 2: Jan. 25, 7 p.m. at Little Caesars Arena
Game 3: Jan. 29, 7:30 p.m. at Barclays Center
Game 4: April 1, 7:30 p.m. at Barclays Center

This will be both advantageous and disadvantageous for Detroit because they’ll have the support of their home crowd during the first two meetings in the first half of the season, but during the presumed playoff push Detroit will be on the road.

It feels as if the most plausible outcome for the season series may also be the most boring – a split.

Their first match up of the season will be during Chandler’s aforementioned suspension. This along with possible chemistry issues will likely leave the Nets vulnerable and likely give the Detroit Pistons a sound victory.

The second meeting will come in January, when both teams will have worked through their initial kinks and dusted off the cobwebs. Judging solely on the Detroit Pistons having a slight upper hand with their second units along with the game being at home, advantage Detroit.

The final two games will be played in Brooklyn. The regular season will be coming close to an end and both teams will be looking to make the playoffs. It’s also worth noting that this will be around the time when Nets fans are speculating that Kevin Durant could make his return, so the building and the city will be buzzing.

The atmosphere and the pressure could likely be too great for the Detroit Pistons to overcome, as those are two components that the team notoriously has issue dealing with.

A season split, but two playoff teams whose play style’s oddly mirror each other.
