Detroit Pistons vs. Boston Celtics 2019-20 preview and prediction
Winds of change in Boston
The Celtics are expected to maintain their status among the Eastern Conference elite but may be a half-step behind the Milwaukee Bucks and Philadelphia 76ers. Boston still has an electric point guard but saw a few key losses in the frontcourt, notably Al Horford and Aron Baynes.
Horford and Baynes won’t ‘wow’ people on the offensive end but their impact will be felt on the defensive end. However the offensive end will improve, slightly, with Kanter stepping in.
Grant Williams, the AP All-American First Team selection at the University of Tennessee, is a solid prospect but is 6-foot-7. The lone rookie center, Tacko Fall, is 7-foot-7 and could provide a tough matchup for Drummond.

Romeo Langford, selected 14th overall, adds more depth on the wing. In his lone season at Indiana University, he struggled to shoot but was playing with torn ligaments in his shooting hand. It’ll be interesting to see how well he shoots it in his rookie season when healthy.
With all the turnover and youth movement in Boston, the veteran move was signing Kemba Walker in lieu of losing Irving. Walker is coming off a third-straight All-Star appearance, in a season in which he set a personal scoring mark at 25.6 points per game.
Let’s take a look at how the Pistons match up with the new-look Celtics.
