Cavs offense vs. Pistons defense

Kevin Love adds another element to the Cavaliers and if he’s healthy, it could make for an interesting series. The 11-year veteran was once a bruising post player but has added a perimeter shot to his game and become leaner.

His ability to stretch the floor and mix in those post moves will give the Cavaliers another element and make life tougher on Griffin to play hard on both ends of the court. Fortunately for Detroit, the addition of Markieff Morris will alleviate some of the pressure and give Griffin needed rest periods.

Cleveland’s guard depth will be met by the Pistons’ own depth. Detroit signed Derrick Rose and Tim Frazier to back up Jackson. Bruce Brown and Langston Galloway are capable defenders against the smaller two guards of Cleveland.

Keeping Sexton out of the paint will be key. He could set up catch-and-shoot opportunities for Dellavadova, Garland, Clarkson and Love.

The biggest area for improvement is to create turnovers. Detroit did a terrific job of securing rebounds, which becomes more challenging with Love in the fold, but the Pistons only forced 12.8 turnovers per game. That will be a key against Cleveland’s younger guards to gain extra possessions
