Centers

The Starter

Andre Drummond – Guaranteed contract ($27.1 million)

Drummond scored a career high 17.3 points per game and led the league in rebounding for the third time in four seasons. He is a top defensive player with four NBA seasons of 1,000 points, 1,000 rebounds, 100 steals and 100 blocks.

Entering a contract year, it will be interesting to see whether Drummond opts-in to a player option worth $28.8 million or if he elects free agency. There’s a possibility he could be moved before the Feb. 7 trade deadline, too.

The prospect

Christian Wood – Non-guaranteed contract ($828K if on roster on Oct. 23)

Wood is set to compete for the 15th guaranteed roster spot on the roster. He has dominated the Gatorade League and was able to show what he could do in a larger NBA role late last season. But he still has to earn his roster spot.

Outside of Maker, there aren’t any other options to play behind Drummond without going to a small-ball lineup. Though the 6-foot-10 forward could still play on the perimeter and be a threat to shoot.
