Detroit Pistons vs. Indiana Pacers 2019-20 season preview
Pistons O vs. Pacers D
Detroit’s offense will go through Blake Griffin, per usual. He showcased his playmaking abilities during his triple-double, in which he shot 6-for-18 from the floor in the Pistons’ win.
He’ll have an opportunity to create a mismatch, whether it’s using an agility advantage against Sabonis or a strength advantage against Warren.
Drummond has had his way against Myles Turner and other Pacers bigs in his 24 games against them, averaging 14.4 points, 14.1 rebounds, 1.5 blocks and 1.3 steals per game in his career. He’ll be a force in the pick-and-roll game and, with the possibility of a consistent 3-point shot being unleashed, he could become a bigger mismatch.
It’s the guards that are going to have a tough matchup. Early on, with Oladipo out, it will be important for Derrick Rose and Luke Kennard to gel with the second unit and lead the offense when Brogdon and Lamb get a breather.
Likely going against a mix of Edmond Summer, Aaron Holliday and Doug McDermott, it should be a favorable matchup with Rose’s experience and Kennard’s ability to create shots for himself.
