5 reasons to believe in the Detroit Pistons in 2019-20 season

The Pistons are entering the 2019-20 season looking to build off of their playoff appearance in the previous season. The Pistons have made solid acquisitions with limited assets and have vastly improved their roster from the season prior.

Where there is usually a gaping hole at point guard and small forward there is now a strength. Where there is usually a roster full of players who cannot shoot there is now a roster full of players who have proven in the past that they can shot at an above average rate.
The young guys that are on the roster have potential and clear ways to improve to realistically become valuable contributors to the team. Most importantly, with the return of the long time Pistons trainer, the Pistons most valuable players can remain on the floor so the roster can work as constructed.
In addition to the main points stated earlier in this article, some more reasons for optimism is that with Casey in his second year as head coach, fans can expect for the players to develop more of an understanding of the offensive and defensive schemes that Casey employs. More familiarity with the schemes in which they are expected to run can only help the Pistons perform better.
Lastly, in an eastern conference that is now even more wide open with the departure of Kawhi Leonard, the Pistons have an even better chance to make a deep run in the postseason.
The Pistons haven’t made it past the first round of the playoffs since 2008 and it is about time that changes.
