Clippers offseason moves

It was a loud offseason move that shook the basketball world one late July night. Leonard had chosen the Los Angeles Clippers over the Lakers, providing balance in the league and no true super team.

Then the Clippers orchestrated a trade to acquire George, sending Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Danillo Gallinari to the Oklahoma City Thunder. It’s the perfect deal to give the Thunder new building blocks and the Clippers versatility on the wing.

Los Angeles wasn’t done filling out its roster, however, as the only key players returning were Montrezl Harrell, Patrick Beverley, Landry Shamet and Williams. The quartet packs a solid punch off the bench, though Beverley likely slides into a starting role.

The Clippers acquired Maurice Harkless in a four-team deal to give them added length and versatility defensively on the wing. Shamet and JaMychal Green were trade deadline additions last season that will impact this year’s championship run.

They signed Rodney McGruder and Ivica Zubac in free agency and added rookies Mfiondu Kabengele and Terrance Mann through the 2019 NBA Draft.

With all of the moves, here’s how the two teams match up.
