Clippers O vs. Pistons D

Detroit is going to have to defend at all levels against one of the most versatile and athletic teams in the league. With the ball primarily in Leonard and George’s hands, they’ll need to close out on shooters and make sure they communicate on rotations.

Perhaps the best Pistons defense will be hitting shots and limiting turnovers so that the Clippers can’t use their athleticism in transition. It’s going to happen at times but limiting those opportunities will go a long way and slow the game down.

Brown and Tony Snell are going to be key with their on-ball defense, though at 6-foot-5, Brown is somewhat undersized. The duo will likely handle the responsibilities of Leonard and George with Griffin also getting plenty of minutes in the matchup.

As a teenager, Sekou Doumbouya doesn’t have the strength or polished skillset to play major minutes but this is a matchup where his athleticism could be an asset and he could see some run.

It’s going to be a tough matchup but the keys are stopping the ball in the halfcourt and limiting transition opportunities.
