Marcus Morris

Marcus Morris was acquired by the Detroit Pistons from the Phoenix Suns. In this deal, the Pistons received Morris, Reggie Bullock and Danny Granger while only giving up one 2020 second-round draft pick. Even if Morris contributed one-fourth of what he ended up providing to the Detroit Pistons, it would still be a win for the organization.

Never known for backing down or being a quitter, the fanbase saw Morris as one of their own. He showed grit, tenacity, and energy every time his feet hit the floor. His defensive effort entrusted himself to former Coach Stan Van Gundy, who viewed Morris as an integral part of his starting rotation. He started in every game he played for the Pistons.

I enjoyed watching Morris dive in the paint, post-up, and not come up for air until the ball dropped from the net. There were certain games in which he played with such intensity and focus that he made every spectator believe he could get whatever he wanted with his sweet stroke of a shot.

The Pistons received a killer return on their investment when they traded that 2020 second-round draft pick and received Morris as one of the players. He will forever go down as one of the best acquisitions the Pistons made in value.
