Pistons O vs. Grizzlies D

The Pistons bench depth and experience will help deliver a win against this youthful Memphis team. Additions like Markieff Morris, Tony Snell, Derrick Rose, and most recently Joe Johnson will give the Pistons the depth in order to hang with the speed of JMorant.

Griffin and Jaren Jackson Jr. had a great matchup in their only meeting, and Drummond dominated both Gasol and Tyler Zeller. Drummond will have another dominant performance on the glass as Valanciunas isn’t known as a very good rebounder, or defender for that matter. Reggie Jackson and Morant will have a good matchup due to Morant’s average, at best, defense.

The battle on the wings will be where the game is won and lost as both teams shot very well from distance in each game. Kennard, Bruce Brown, and whoever else is on the wings will be going up against a combination of Brooks, Anderson, Crowder and Iguodala, all of whom are good and elite defenders. Iguodala is a very interesting situation as he’s trying to get bought out and the Grizzlies are insistent that he plays for Memphis.

Overall the Pistons have improved a lot on the offensive side of the ball as their bench unit is a big improvement from last and Rose alone will get the Pistons at least a few more wins and a lot more points.

The Grizzlies decided to end the Grit and Grind era but that doesn’t mean they don’t play defense anymore. That being said, their bench aren’t very good defenders especially  Jones, Allen, and Ivan Rabb. Rose, Kennard/Snell, and Morris will dominate their opposite number and would make the Pistons in a great position to win both games.
