The matchup is concerning because of how solid Orlando is defensively. But the teams play at two similar paces and the difference between them is the Pistons are going to shoot a lot of 3-pointers and have the ability to make them.

With a relatively unchanged roster, it’s not a threat that the Magic show on paper, though Terrence Ross, Evan Fournier and D.J. Augustin have been quality shooters over the course of their careers.

The schedule matches up that the Pistons need to win the March match up since its before the gauntlet of title-contending teams the Pistons play. The first meeting is followed by two games against the Charlotte Hornets. The second meeting is right before the All-Star break and follows a game against Charlotte.

It sets up nicely for the Pistons to be at their best against a team they’ll be directly competing against for Eastern Conference playoff seeding.
