How the Camby Came to Be

The origins of the Camby might shock a lot of you out there. The Camby was originally used by Miami Heat fans to tell Heat haters off. This was witnessed by many members of Pistons Twitter before the Pistons Twitter we know and love today, came to be. The Heat fans never really adopted the Camby so Pistons Twitter came in and “borrowed” the gif with no real intent on returning it.

From the words of one of the first Pistons Twitter Camby users, @Shamshammgod, “we adopted (the Camby) as our own, like a neglected child.”

The potential was there for Heat Twitter to use the Camby as Pistons fans now do, as the ultimate defense of our team and city.

Whenever there is foolishness said about our franchise, you can be sure that the replies of the hater’s tweet will be flooded by that simple, but beautiful gif telling that person to “get the *expletive* out of here.”

See replies to this. I think we made our point.
