Leading the Troops

I have been referred to as the man who makes the call to Camby. It is an honor to lead the soldiers on Pistons Twitter into battle.

I most likely gained that title for my use of the “Camby Signal” in reply to the Camby’d tweets rather than using the Camby gif itself. The signal alerts Pistons Twitter that it’s time to assemble and take down anyone spewing blasphemy about our beloved team.

The Camby has brought so many fans together to rally against the hate we face, in a fun way that doesn’t really hurt anyone’s feelings at the end of the day. It’s more of a means to get the uneducated person to wake up and know how wrong they were about what they tweeted.

Not a lot of people can handle being Camby’d and often times after I alert the troops with the signal, the person will chicken out and delete whatever they tweeted. At that point it’s mission accomplished for me, because that person knows they are about to be spammed by the Camby.

It’s an honor for me to receive requests to Camby anything from Pistons Twitter, and the fact that I have the ability to rally that many people together for a cause, is humbling to say the least.
