Dallas Mavericks vs. Detroit Pistons DFS tips, advice and analysis for Oct. 9
Shooting guards
Again, FanDuel’s pricing continues to confuse me. Even if healthy, Doncic ($8,900), is priced way too high. Wright is inexplicably $8,700. Both are easy fades.
Starter
DK: None
FD: Tim Hardaway Jr. ($5,000 – value at 25 FDFP)
Hardaway is an hour from his college home of Michigan and will have a favorable matchup against Tony Snell. If Hardaway is getting shots to fall, he could explode for a big scoring night, even in limited minutes. He’s an even stronger play if Doncic and Porzingis sit.
Value
DK: Tim Hardaway Jr. ($4,400 – value at 22 DKFP)
FD: Tony Snell ($3,500 – value at 17.5 DKFP)
For Hardaway, command ‘C’, command ‘V’.
Snell’s value is largely due to his defensive presence. He secured a steal and had a block in Monday’s game. But he also scored seven points on seven shots and found open spots on the floor. He’s a critical part of the Pistons offense moving off the ball.
Fades
DK: This is a value position, if anything, for the Mavericks-Pistons game on the five-game slate. There are several options not listed above, including Wright ($4,600) if Doncic is out and Luke Kennard ($4,400). He played 20 minutes Monday and looked more aggressive offensively.
FD: Doncic and Wright are at the top of this list. Courtney Lee ($4,600) may not get enough opportunities for fantasy value. Kennard at $5,000 seems ambitious for preseason.
