Johnson over Wood

After facing the toughest business decision of your professional career, cutting Christian Wood, you get an opportunity to sit back and marvel in the roster you created.

Joe Johnson brings great leadership to the 15-man roster and will occasionally win you a ballgame. The reality is you’ve already improved a 41-41 roster but need it to hold together health-wise to see the fruit of your hard work.

This is the roster you go to battle with:

PG – Reggie Jackson/Derrick Rose/Tim Frazier/Jordan Bone (two-way)
SGBruce Brown/Luke Kennard/Langston Galloway/Khyri Thomas
SF – Tony Snell/Joe Johnson/Sviatoslav Mykhailiuk/Sekou Doumbouya/Louis King (two-way)
PFBlake Griffin/Markieff Morris
CAndre Drummond/Thon Maker

Injuries bog you down and load management hinders your maximum win total, but 43 wins lands Detroit the seventh seed in the playoffs and a home win against the Philadelphia 76ers before losing in five games in the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs.

Hopefully this fun exercise sheds light on the difficulty of what the front office deals with, even if the timing isn’t realistic.
