How did the Detroit Pistons players grade out in their 117-100 loss to the Atlanta Hawks in the first game at Little Caesars Arena this season?
Riding the high of the Detroit Pistons impressive come-from-behind 119-110 victory over the Indiana Pacers the night before, Piston faithful crowded into Little Caesars Arena (LCA) to see the Pistons take on the Atlanta Hawks in the home opener for the season.
Playing a back-to-back to open things up is a tough way to start the season, and it really started to show for the Pistons. Both the teams and fans alike discovered quickly that there would be no stopping Trae Young in this game, but despite him getting a off to a blazing hot start, the Pistons took a 63-60 lead into the half.
From there, however, it was all downhill for the Pistons. The Pistons came out flat to start the half and it just never seemed to pick up. The Pistons were outplayed and out hustled in nearly every way in the second half, leading to their 17-point loss.
Games like this remind you to take every game this early in the season with a grain of salt, the good and the bad. The Pistons have a lot of basketball still to play, and Pistons fans should still be excited to see where they can take the season.
With that being said, lets take a look at the team’s report card for their home opening loss.
