The Detroit Pistons are coming off a disappointing road loss, and the Brooklyn Nets travel after beating the Rockets on Friday. Here’s what you need to know.

The Detroit Pistons have to feel like they let one get away on Friday, turning it over too many times and missing too many three’s. Fortunately, it’s a quick turnaround at home as the Brooklyn Nets visit Little Caesars Arena.

Betting tips/DFS analysis

The Pistons are scuffling right now, struggling to beat a Bulls team that couldn’t get out of their own way to close their road trip. It doesn’t help that Blake Griffin and Reggie Jackson have missed significant time to start the season.

Thus the Nets are a favorable play here.

Andre Drummond should be in a good spot in cash games for DFS players but maybe steer away in GPP’s as his price tag is creeping up to five digits.

Kyrie Irving, on the other hand, is a solid GPP or cash game play, even over $9,000. He could potentially score 40, or more, points against the Pistons, a team that has gifted the ball to opposing teams at an alarming rate and haven’t stopped ball-dominant guards this season.

As long as Griffin remains out, Christian Wood could have some value against the Nets rotational bigs. He’s athletic, can put the ball on the floor and is playing a fair amount of minutes. His opportunity with a price tag under $4,000 could be a solid play.

Detroit is going to have to take care of the ball. Even if they do, knocking down open three’s will be key. Both were the Pistons’ Achilles heel on Friday night.

Brooklyn’s depth, particularly in the backcourt, could be a problem for Detroit. Derrick Rose has been a lone bright spot but he’s capped around 25-27 minutes per night. Any more and the Pistons may not be able to use him for a playoff push.

Tim Frazier has shown his deficiencies defending stronger point guards, so Irving or Spencer Dinwiddie should have an easy time scoring.

The Nets have too many weapons on the perimeter for the Pistons to appropriately defend, so this could be another tough game to endure without their star.

Hopefully, the Pistons can find ways to improve to prepare for Griffin’s return, even if it results in a loss.
