series preview. Can Drummond continue his dominance against Towns?. light

Injury report

In the best news of the season, a loaded Pistons injury report is getting lighter as Griffin is probable for Monday’s game and said he’d make his season debut. Bruce Brown was added to the injury report but is probable with a right knee contusion. Tim Frazier is also probable and Derrick Rose has been updated to questionable. Khyri Thomas is out with a right foot stress fracture.

In Sunday’s game against Denver, the Timberwolves were without a point guard. Jeff Teague missed due to illness and is questionable Monday. Backup Shabazz Napier missed with a hamstring injury and is doubtful for Monday.

Instead, the Timberwolves started rookie Jarrett Culver alongside Andrew Wiggins, Treveon Graham, Robert Covington and Karl-Anthony Towns.

DFS tips

Andre Drummond has dominated Towns, with the Pistons winning all eight games since Towns entered the league. Drummond averages 20 points, 16.4 rebounds 1.4 blocks and 1.1 steals per game in those eight games. At a slight discount, dipping under $10,000 on DraftKings, Drummond is in a prime position.

More from PistonPowered

Towns has had a great start to the season in a more prominent role, averaging 25.6 points, 12.7 rebounds and 4 assists per game this season. But he hasn’t been tested like the league’s strongest center will give him. Towns is slightly more expensive than Drummond, despite the pair averaging the same amount of fantasy points per game on DraftKings and FanDuel.

Wiggins has been very good this season, averaging upwards of 38 fantasy points per game on both platforms. He’s scoring 24.7 points per game to go with 4.8 rebounds and 3.1 assists per game. He’s playing at a different level than he has all seasons, like Drummond, with something to prove.

All Pistons have seen a decrease in price with Griffin’s imminent return. It’ll be interesting to see how Dwane Casey utilizes his lineups. Whether it’s with the starters or reserves, Luke Kennard is the only other Pistons I’d look at tonight. He’s $6,100 on DraftKings and $5,900 on FanDuel and he’s playing at a different level, making a third-year jump.

Griffin said he wants to fit around what the Pistons have done in their first 10 games. Expect Kennard to continue to play well when given an opportunity.

Who should start for the Pistons with Blake Griffin's return?. dark. Next

As for Griffin’s minutes, there will be an undisclosed restriction as he comes back, which is another reason to like Drummond and Kennard.
