Derrick Rose

The arrival of Rose was one greatly celebrated by Pistons fans. Those who were opposed to the team signing Rose had worries about adding an injury prone player to an already injury prone roster. Twenty-eight games into the season and Rose has been worth every penny of his two-year, $15 million deal.

He has appeared in 22 games and has performed masterfully at times, completely willing the Pistons offense. Rose is so quick it seems as if there is not any one he can’t beat one-on-one. If the Pistons desperately need a bucket, they can pass the ball to Rose and have confidence that he will be able to beat his man and create a good shot for himself.

The biggest issue with Rose is that the Pistons have not been able to play him enough. Brown has shown potential as a point guard and has done a respectable job of filling the void that Jackson created with his injury, but with this being said he is still no Rose. Barring the risk of injury, Rose would play 30-plus minutes a game and likely be the starter of this basketball team.

Unfortunately, the potential for injury for Rose is too worrisome so he has had his minutes heavily monitored averaging 24 minutes per game this season. Rose has made the most of his limited minutes averaging 16.6 points and 6 assists per game. If the Pistons hope for any shot at saving their season and making a push for the playoffs, a healthy Rose is a must.
