The Detroit Pistons were able to snap their five game losing streak tonight, after soundly defeating the Washington Wizards 132-102.

The Detroit Pistons were able to rattle off a win against a short handed Wizards team tonight, and it couldn’t have come a moment sooner. The Pistons assisted on 70 percent of their field goals tonight, and after scoring a remarkable 68 points in the first half, they ended the night with 49 percent of their points coming from their bench.

The effort on both ends of the floor tonight was impeccable. Detroit held the Wizards to just 29 percent shooting from three-point range, and were regularly able to get them to take contested and undesirable shots.

It was genuinely an entertaining game to watch, with every single player who saw the court tonight finding the bottom of the basket. However, is it a sign of good things to come?

In terms of individual performances – maybe. In terms of cohesive success with this team – it doesn’t seem entirely likely. This was a remarkably depleted Wizards team. The Pistons are about to head on a six game road trip, where they’ll play the Jazz, Clippers and Lakers. This Pistons team is plagued with injuries, and with Luke Kennard going down, things are getting more and more difficult by the day.

Tonight was a major sign of progress and even encouraging for team morale. However, with a tough few games coming up things could get bumpy quick.
