2. Boston Celtics
The Boston Celtics would be an incredible fit for Drummond. Playing with Kemba Walker, Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum would make a legitimate contender in the Eastern Conference.
The Celtics have also have great defenders, including Marcus Smart, which could alleviate the constant pressure at the rim that Drummond has had to deal with throughout his entire career in Detroit.
However, the deal doesn’t make a lot of sense for either team to make.
To head off the inevitable: The Boston Celtics are unlikely to be in on a trade for Andre Drummond. Just like with any big salary player, it would cost them Gordon Hayward or a significant amount of their depth. Boston isn't going to do that unless the player is a clear upgrade.

Gordon Hayward, the skilled but often-injured forward has a player option for next season, and will become an unrestricted free agent after that. If the Pistons move on from Drummond, acquiring a player like Hayward would not make much sense.
The only other way the Celtics could make the money work is by gutting out their bench. This would likely include their best defensive player in Smart. However, the most likely scenario is that the Celtics head into the playoffs with their wings, and continue to slap together the center position in the future.
