3 takeaways from the Detroit Pistons 136-103 win over the Atlanta Hawks
The production on the wings
During his initial return from injury, Markieff Morris was struggling mightily and missed upwards of the first 10 shots he took. Since then he’s been absolutely lights out for the Pistons have over the last two games has refused to miss. The versatility that he brings to the table is remarkable.
Morris can operate in the post and clash with opposing big men, or he can float around the perimeter and bury a triple. Tonight he did his fair share of both and poured on 22 points while shooting 70 percent from the field.

The theme tonight seems to be about players who in the last two games have absolutely shined, so it should come as no surprise that Svi Mykhailiuk did his part tonight as well.
The confidence in his shooting ability has been on a rapid incline within the last few weeks, but it wasn’t until this last week that the productivity has matched that confidence. The fearlessness in attempting (and subsequently making) contested jump shots is the fundamental definition of beauty in its finest form.
After scoring a career high 24 points on 81.8 percent shooting, Mykhailiuk has slowly but surely begun to solidify his position in Detroit’s plans moving forward.
As a side note but still significant nonetheless, Tony Snell was effective tonight as well, recording three blocks in the first quarter and finishing with 8 points.
Detroit played a masterful game in Atlanta, and they may be able to keep the momentum up.
