Best moment: Poster Heard ’round the League

As much as I want to just leave this slide with just this tweet, I don’t know if my editors would allow that to fly.

Regardless, can we just…. the poster. The stare down. The bench reaction. Doumbouya trying not to express that he sent Tristan Thompson to the nether realm. Absolutely banishing him.

I know we said to not compare the rookie to players because it’s not fair, but whatever expectations you have for him, he’s going to exceed them tenfold.

To bring it back a bit, this dunk was fantastic. I’m pretty bummed it wasn’t at home, because that reaction would’ve also been fantastic, but this dunk was a great highlight to start off the decade of Pistons basketball.

This team and the fans could be watching dunks like that for the next 10 years and I’m 100% fine with that. This kid is something special out there on the court.

Being able to watch the young talent grow and develop is just as enjoyable as it is irritating. But, when you’re rebuilding-not-rebuilding-maybe rebuilding, the young core is what’s important, obviously. Bruce Brown‘s growth from the three-point line is great news.

Luke Kennard having a lethal assassin mentality with the ball in his hand is vital in a game where outside shooting is becoming more and more paramount. Sviatoslav Mykhailiuk being top-10 in the league in three-point percentage. And Doumbouya dunking over and on top of everyone and their mother is just fun. And remember, playoffs could still happen.

End of Season Best Moment prediction: Sekou dropping 30+ points
