Rose & Reggie

In the absence of Blake Griffin for the season and Andre Drummond and Luke Kennard missing games, the buck is passed to Derrick Rose and Reggie Jackson. The pair started alongside each other for the first time on Friday.

Jackson struggled shooting from the floor, missing some easy scores throughout the game, however, Rose managed to carry the scoring load. He scored nine points in the third quarter to keep the Pistons alive.

Rose finished with 22 points and eight assists. He’s now scored 20 points for a career-high 11 consecutive games.

The Pistons should not trade Derrick Rose. light. Related Story

Despite the shooting woes, Jackson is showing no signs of rust finding his teammates for easy buckets and in the pick-and-roll game. He’d finish with 14 points and six assists in 23 minutes in his second game back from injury.

The combination of the two seemed to leave the offense confused.

Rose and Jackson looked as though they were trying to complement each other’s game, it just didn’t mesh with the rest of the offense consistently. Additionally, Tim Frazier leading the bench unit will never be ideal.

This is an experiment that will take more time to truly evaluate — but night one wasn’t a great start.
