Now this is a move that makes more sense. Reggie Jackson goes out for another point guard in D’Angelo Russell and Drummond goes out for another big man in Draymond Green. On paper this appears to be a great idea. Green is an elite defender and Russell is an upgrade at point guard over Jackson.

Many Pistons fans would be elated to acquire a point guard of Russell’s caliber, so it was interesting to see how the remainder of the season panned out. Unsurprisingly, this move warranted the best post-trade success out of all the simulations made, but don’t get too excited.

The Pistons were still far from championship contenders. In fact, they weren’t even in playoff contention. This Pistons simulation finished out the season 31-51 which was good for 23rd in the NBA. Come end of the season Green was the only Piston to warrant any form of accolades, as he was named to the NBA’s all defensive second team.
