Bringing in a talent like Kristaps Porzingis would do wonders for this team and would instantly change the perception around the team. Porzingis embodies the modern big man and would fit perfectly on nearly any roster so the Pistons were thanking their lucky stars that they acquired the Latvian big man.

For some reason, 2K’s generators are obsessed with point-guard swaps, as evident with Tim Frazier and Jalen Brunson on the backend of the trade.

Surprisingly (or maybe unsurprisingly given how the results of the other trade simulations have gone), this trade did not warrant post-trade success either.

The Pistons ended this season 22-60 which got them last in the NBA, once again missing the playoffs. Porzingis ended the season being named to the all NBA third team.

In Conclusion

What the Pistons will decide to do with the Drummond contract situation remains to be seen. The franchise is at a major transitional period where the front office needs to decide whether to continue to play to win or look to rebuild.

Since Drummond has already indicated that he would like to test his value in free agency this offseason, losing Drummond for nothing would be a failure for the team.

At the same time it does not appear as if Drummond is enough for teams to want to give up significant assets for what would essentially be a half season’s rental. On top of that team’s are not willing to give up many assets for a big man that is limited to scoring in the paint. Drummond trade rumors were the talk of the NBA, but once again they may end up being nothing but rumors.
