3 takeaways from the Detroit Pistons 128-123 win over the Denver Nuggets
A quality way to end the woes
The Pistons saw their season slip away completely within the last week, and the result has been a five game losing streak.
Sure, the Nuggets had three of their main scoring options out with injuries, with Michael Porter Jr sidelined as well. They played their third game in four days, and it’s safe to say that they quickly began to feel the effects of that.
But that doesn’t mean Detroit doesn’t deserve credit for willing their way to this win, the efforts from Drummond (in the second half) Bruce Brown, Sekou, and Thon Maker were paramount.
In what’s become a theme this season, Pistons fans may not have a lot to celebrate other than small silver linings. This feels like a rather large silver lining relative to what else we’ve seen this season, given the dominance that Denver displayed early on.
Being able to overcome that feels incredible.
Detroit began playing with passion, they were making smart decisions with the ball, and they were playing as a team. They weren’t ignoring screens like they have been recently, they were utilizing every opportunity they had to score the basketball.
As the trade deadline looms, things could look a lot different moving forward. It’s nice to get another win with this team.
