The Detroit Pistons are in a tough stretch of the season, and it isn’t getting any easier. Here’s a look at their 2020 NBA Draft odds as of Feb. 3.

The Detroit Pistons are back in the win column, ending a five-game slide, which is great for the confidence of a young team, but not for The Daily Tank.

Detroit had the league’s second-longest losing streak, which came in a tough week of games. But the dawn of a new week leads to a new path for the Pistons towards the playoffs as the Magic stand alone in the eighth seed in the East but also with a five-game losing streak.

The Pistons (18-33) put together a complete performance to beat the Denver Nuggets in a Sunday matinee. The same Nuggets team that beat the Jazz and Bucks to start a three-game road trip. Detroit had seven scorers in double figures.

In terms of the Tankathon standings, the Pistons didn’t move from the seven spot but inched a half-game closer to the Magic for the eight spot, but are still four games back. The Pistons also pulled within a half-game of the Bulls, Wizards and Kings, who are holding the 8-10 spots in the Tankathon standings.

Detroit’s chances at a top-4 pick are 32% and its odds for the top pick is 7.5%. As part of the feature, we will simulate the lottery standings 10 times and figure an average draft position.

Oddly enough, the average draft position remained the same at seventh overall. The top position was No. 1, giving them a crack at James Wiseman, LaMelo Ball, Anthony Edwards or whoever they wanted. The lowest draft selection was ninth overall.

Golden State holds a two-game lead atop the Tankathon standings and will travel to Washington, which is eighth. While Orlando clings to a playoff spot, Charlotte hopes to make that push but is currently ahead of Detroit for sixth in the Tankathon standings.

Elsewhere in important games, the Knicks (fourth) visit the Cavaliers (second). Minnesota, losers of 11 straight and fifth in Tankathon standings, visits the Kings, who are 3-7 over their last 10 and 10th in the Tankathon standings.
