Wiseman’s fit in Detroit

Wiseman is the top big man in this draft so the Pistons would have to be in the top three picks at least.

A frontcourt of Christian Wood, John Henson, and Thon Maker is not going to likely be the frontcourt going into next season. The draft obviously precedes free agency so if the Pistons opt to not go with Wiseman, then Montrezl Harrell should likely get an offer from Detroit.

If Wiseman is available, I would take him due to the weak frontcourt free agents outside of Harrell.

If the Pistons were to take Wiseman, he would be a nice cheap option at the center position to try and fill Drummond’s shoes along with (hopefully) Christian Wood. Due to Wood’s shooting the two could either share the floor with each other or Wiseman and Wood could pair with Blake Griffin.

His development will be key, as will be the case with any prospect the Pistons select. He already has a variety of post moves in his arsenal, so how he’s able to utilize those in the NBA could transcend him into a legitimate star.

If he’s able to continue to do the work he’s done on the boards, then Detroit will have a lethal scoring and defending option camping the low post.

If he’s able to diversify his offensive production and develop a consistent mid-range shot, he could bolster his effectiveness and take his game to another level. His scoring output would give Detroit multiple options.

Wiseman’s pick and roll ability could go well with Reggie Jackson and even Tony Snell who has really started to use the pick and roll with Drummond, Maker, and Wood.

Next. It's officially Christian Wood's time to shine. dark

The teams that would look to draft Wiseman would be Golden State, Charlotte, and Washington. Detroit is only behind the Warriors and Charlotte, so they’d have to get ahead of likely both teams in order to bring Wiseman to Detroit.
