We don’t know when exactly the NBA season will return, but whenever it does there are a few Detroit Pistons who need to improve.

It’s officially been two weeks since the NBA season was suspended due to growing concerns of COVID-19 and it’s inability to be contained. The last time the Detroit Pistons played was on March 11th against the Sixers.

As it stands, it remains unknown when the season will return from hiatus, if it even does. Currently the Pistons have lost 12 of their last 13 games. They’ve only managed to win one game since trading Andre Drummond at the deadline.

There are more silver linings to this then it may appear at first glance. For starters, obviously with Detroit entering a rebuild, the more you lose the better chance you have at obtaining a top selection in the draft.

While they may have been losing a lot of basketball games, the one thing that remained consistent was their effort. At some point throughout the duration and seemingly every game they played they’d turn it into a real ball game down the stretch.

Their fight has been tremendous despite the circumstances.

We’ve seen breakout performances from Christian Wood, and some glimpses of success from Bruce Brown and even Thon Maker.

Through all of this though, the fact remains that as a team the Pistons still struggle more than anything else.

Sure, there are stand out performances from certain guys on some nights, but more often than night we’re seeing some players go through some substantial shooting, defensive, or all around game woes.

The NBA hiatus could hopefully benefit them and give them the time off that they need in order to get back on track.
