Portland Trail Blazers. Nico Mannion . 14. player. 34. . Point guard

The Portland Trail Blazers are in desperate need of help at nearly every position. After making it all the way to the Western Conference Finals a season ago, they found themselves reeling due to injuries.

One area where they could improve is at point guard. Obviously with Damian Lillard carrying the load for them this season, they’re looking to add depth, not starting talent.

That’s where Nico Mannion comes in.

Mannion’s ability to play on or away from the ball could help their spacing moving forward. He’s a decent catch and shoot threat along the perimeter, although he shot just 32.7 percent.

Where he excels is with his off the ball movement. Comparing him to Stephen Curry in this regard would be a bit of an exaggeration, but the way that he navigates a defense and finds an open space on the floor is tremendous.

Utilizing this next to Lillard or CJ McCollum on drive and kicks would be quite the spectacle.

He provides decent spacing in transition and can fill lanes well, he’s also showcased his bounce a few times while attacking the basket.

His passing abilities are best utilized in pick and rolls, where he’d have plenty of opportunities if he were to be drafted by Portland.
