. Center. Charlotte Hornets. James Wiseman. 8. player. 170

If things were to shake out the way that they have in this mock draft, James Wiseman could come away as the steal of the draft at eighth overall.

The Hornets have used their most recent picks to bolster their back court along with their wing depth. The next thing they’d need to prioritize is adding a legitimate scorer in the post. Wiseman could have a chance to thrive in Charlotte.

Both Terry Rozier and Devonte’ Graham (but mainly the latter) would be lethal pick and roll option next to Wiseman, given his explosiveness and quickness at the rim.

He’s not able to create his own shot right now, which is where having play makers at guard come in handy.

One of the issues with Wiseman is his questionable decision making on offense, where he tends to clog up the post leaving any ball handler attempting to drive in a bad spot.

Because of this, it’s important that he diversifies his skills. Creating even a semi-reliable mid range shot could go a long way for him.

He’s great if you can catch him out in transition, and he can use his size well in post ups, but right now his shot outside of the paint is lacking consistency.
