What Brown did well

Speaking more towards the previous point; during the 2018-2019 season Brown played the most amount of starting minutes from any player that was drafted in the second round of the 2018 NBA Draft.

Although he wasn’t always productive on offense, his defense was consistently coming through.

Then when the 2019-2020 season rolled around, he began to develop more versatility on offense and was hitting his three-point shots with more regularity, and was showing more confidence driving to the basket.

Not only that, but his awareness on the floor was astounding. His court vision improved because he was given the opportunity to play point guard, a position that he may be better suited to play moving forward.

He doubled his scoring output, jumping from 4.3 points per game to 8.9. His field goal and three-point percentage increased, and so did his minutes.

Brown emerged as a player for Detroit who can do just about everything at a level that can win you games. No, the Pistons didn’t win a ton of games but in the right situation, the jack-of-all trade player that he’s becoming is exactly what you need on a playoff basketball team.

It almost goes without say that he’s the Pistons best rebounding guard.

His low dribble when going to the basket makes him hard to defend, and it gives him the ability to kick back out if he needs to.

He became a reliable pick and roll option, and ultimately he’s going to make an impact in Detroit for years to come.
