#5 Los Angeles Lakers

After Rodman was released by the Chicago Bulls in 1999, he was signed to a pro rated contract to finish out the season with the Los Angeles Lakers. He appeared in 23 total games and averaged 11.2 rebounds.

The bright lights of Los Angeles wasn’t what bothered him. He had been dealing with the spotlight for the better part of a decade. It was the fact that his teammates were always complaining about something.

In a recent interview, he reflected on his time with the Lakers and, in an expletive filled rant, he expressed his frustration with the younger players always finding a new reason to be upset about something, and it didn’t sit well with him.

#4 Dallas Mavericks

The final stop in Rodman’s career was with the Dallas Mavericks during the ’99-’00 season. He was signed after the season had already begun and in Mark Cuban’s first season as the owner of the team, the hope was that Rodman would help bring some energy and sell some tickets.

To Cuban’s credit, the energy was definitely there and although Rodman was on the tail end of his career he still preformed at a solid level, averaging 14.3 rebounds per game.

A 38-year old Rodman was brought on to a 19-27 Mavericks team in hopes that they could make a late push for the playoffs, but unfortunately after appearing in just 12 games, Dallas had only achieved 3 wins and he was subsequently released.

The Mavericks did not end up making the playoffs, and he decided to retire.
