Detroit Pistons: 2020 first round NBA mock draft 2.0
The Washington Wizards are another team that’s in desperate need of some help on the wing. Isaac Okoro doesn’t generate a ton of attention on offense, but his defense is becoming his staple. He’s never going to be their star, but he’s the jack of all trades type of player that every team needs.
Okoro can fight to the basket and work through contact without much trouble. He’s able to finish with both hands and has a really soft touch at the rim. His shooting mechanics are going to need some work, but could be well worth the effort.
He could end up being a reliable catch and shoot threat for the Wizards, or at the very least he can draw some attention away from the post.
He’s never really been a primary ball handler in pick and roll’s, but it’s an underrated part of his game that could be utilized in the right situation.
Defensively he’s consistently able to stay with his man and can guard multiple positions. Okoro’s length may prevent him from becoming a great rim protector, but he’s strong enough to oppose anyone who challenges him.
A high IQ defensive minded wing would be perfect in Washington, and they’d be lucky to have the chance to draft him.
