Killian Hayes

NBA Player Comparison: Goran Dragic

Hayes has been connected to the Pistons for some time now. Assuming that they miss out on Anthony Edwards and LaMelo Ball, Hayes would make sense for a team that needs a floor general.

Much can change from now until the unofficial draft date, but If the Pistons have the opportunity, don’t be surprised if they go French back to back years.

Hayes lacks athleticism and needs to improve his consistency from long range. However, his size, basketball IQ and passing ability are elite for his age. After playing well in the best pro league in France the best two seasons, Hayes profile has grew. In ten games for Ratiopharm Ulm during the EuroCup, Hayes averaged 17.2 points and 8.3 assists per 36 minutes.

Goran Dragic seems like a fair comparison considering his play making ability and size. The ceiling for Hayes may be just where Dragic was in Phoenix, but that productivity is certainly worthy of a top 10 selection.

Both players lack elite athleticism and are extremely left handed dominant. However, both Euros are composed, savvy passers that are dangerous in transition.

Hayes’ has great vision and will often have the ability to see over smaller point guards. He’ll contribute to a team, but improving his jump shot could escalate him to another level and could be more comparable to D’Angelo Russell.
