3. Detroit Pistons

The Detroit Pistons are in the most unknown spot among all of the Detroit sports teams. Every other team has some sense of direction right now, whether it is positive or negative. The Pistons however have neither.

As of right now, they have no set future, which is both good and bad. Good because the team can regroup and set a new goal, but bad in the sense that no one has any idea what is going to happen next.

More from PistonPowered

Outside of rookie Sekou Doubmouya, the Pistons do not have a single player signed past the 2022-23 season.

Blake Griffin will be on the books for $36+ million for the next two seasons, Luke Kennard is a free agent after this upcoming season, and Christian Wood has begun scaring Pistons fans surrounding the notion that he might sign elsewhere this off-season.

Placing the Pistons somewhere on this list was difficult because of this unknown, but with Troy Weaver coming over from Oklahoma City as general manager, the Pistons have the right man to rebuild this team.

If things go the right way, Weaver and head coach Dwane Casey can build around Sekou, the No. 7 pick, and retain some of the team’s current players, the Pistons could be headed in the right direction. IT’s just a matter of time until we know what is next with this team.
