18. . SG. Boston Celtics. RJ Hampton . 14. player

The Boston Celtics have three first round picks this year, all of which could very well be traded to acquire a pick inside of the top ten. If this were to happen, it’s likely that they’d draft Okongwu seeing as they need the added depth in their front court.

However, if they stand pat and make a selection at 14th overall, RJ Hampton could easily become their next draftee. He’s a combo guard and would prove to be highly valuable for a Celtics team trying to make a title run.

Hampton is a very crafty scorer and uses his handles to break down defenders and create his own shot. Boston has done a pretty good job accumulating play makers over the years, and this would be another fine addition.

He’s a gifted pick and roll initiator and is fearless on his drives to the basket. Hampton has shown he’s capable of drawing consistent contact around the rim, something that you don’t always find in guards nowadays.

Another reason why the Celtics would be a good fit for Hampton is because he’ll have limited shot selection. It’s not that they don’t want him to score, but his selection has often been held in question.

So if he were to land on a team that already has elite scorers, he’ll be able to prioritize his facilitating while also keeping his selection in check. Gaining shot discipline will go a long way for Hampton.
