It’s becoming increasingly more likely that Golden State could opt to trade down in the draft. However, if they decline to do so, for whatever reason, James Wiseman could in all likelihood be their top priority.

With the likes of Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green and Andrew Wiggins, the only missing piece for the Warriors in their hunt to return to the NBA Finals is a legitimate center. Wiseman could be the obvious choice here.

As most can imagine, whoever Golden State ends up with won’t share a similar entrance to the league as many others in the lottery. They don’t need a cornerstone piece, they need stability.

He’s not able to create his own shot right now, which is where having play makers at guard come in handy.

One of the issues with Wiseman is his questionable decision making on offense, where he tends to clog up the post leaving any ball handler attempting to drive in a bad spot.

Because of this, it’s important that he diversifies his skills. Creating even a semi-reliable mid range shot could go a long way for him.

He’s great if you can catch him out in transition, and he can use his size well in post ups, but right now his shot outside of the paint is lacking consistency.
