Detroit Pistons: It’s time to get that #1 pick

It’s time to tank for real

The Pistons are just 1-6 and look like they are on their way to being the worst team in the NBA and that was before Hayes went down with injury.

Developing the rookies was the main goal of the season, and now that one of them is out, it’s time to embrace the other goal: Getting the #1 pick in the draft.

The only way to save this lost season is to ensure that Detroit picks in the top-3 of a loaded draft and can get a potential superstar to make us forget about the bad luck with Hayes.

That doesn’t mean they shouldn’t play hard or that they shuld try to lose on purpose but it’s time to seriously consider trading Blake Griffin and Derrick Rose so that the Pistons can lose with all of their young guys logging huge minutes.

If the Pistons can get plenty of run for their rookies and nab a top pick in the process, then this season can be considered a success even with the devastating news about Killian Hayes.

The Detroit Pistons can’t seem to buy a break, but they can use this bad news to their advantage when it comes to playing their young guys and continuing the rebuild with a top pick.
