If you’re wondering why you should watch the Detroit Pistons vs. the Phoenix Suns, here are some reasons.

We all knew the Detroit Pistons would be bad this season but most of us looked forward to seeing Blake Griffin again (I’m over that) and to watch the development of the rookies, especially point guard Killian Hayes.

Now that Hayes is out with injury, there is less reason to watch, though the Pistons have been scrappy and very entertaining even in their seven losses.

But it gets tough to watch the team lose night after night, even if they are playing hard while they do it.

I wrote earlier that it is time to unleash the youth in some lineups that the fans have been dying to see, if for no other reason, to give us some reason to watch.

So, the reasons to watch revolve around the Pistons’ youth and future, which is looking brighter.

Here’s why you should keep watching tonight against the Phoenix Suns.

Detroit Pistons: Reasons to watch against the Suns tonight

Reason #1: The Return of Josh Jackson

Josh Jackson has been listed as probable for tonight’s game against the Suns, the team that selected him fourth overall in the 2017 draft.

Jackson has been one of the pleasant surprises of the season, a low-risk addition that is making Troy Weaver look good.

Jackson is averaging 15.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, two assists and a steal in just over 24 minutes a game. One of the benefits of being young and rebuilding is that you can take chances on guys like Jackson and give them an opportunity to rejuvenate their career.

I doubt Jackson will be in the discussion for Most Improved Player, as the Detroit Pistons are too bad, but his improvement has been one of the bright spots of the season and will hopefully continue tonight against his former team.
