Detroit Pistons: Trading Derrick Rose to the Brooklyn Nets

The Brooklyn Nets started Bruce Brown in their last game, so what started as a very deep team now looks like it could use some help, especially at backup point guard.

Here’s a trade that could get them some depth and give the Detroit Pistons some assets:

In this trade, the Nets get some scoring depth off their bench and the Pistons get a younger wing to try out who is on a reasonable contract and could be a trade asset down the road.

The Pistons would love to get a first-round pick for Derrick Rose but that is probably not going to happen, so a player and a lower pick is about all they can expect.

The Nets may not like the idea of putting Derrick Rose on the same team as Kyrie and that is understandable, but they’d be trading from a position of depth and Prince is only playing 15.8 minutes per game, the lowest of his career, so it’s not like they are giving up a piece of their core.

Prince has put up as many as 14 points and six boards per game in his career and has shot 36.6 percent from long range overall.

He is worth taking a risk on, as 3-and-D wings are valuable in the NBA and you can never have too many of them.

Derrick Rose is just eating into the young guy’s minutes anyway, so this would be a good deal for the Pistons in many ways.
