Detroit Pistons: They are losing the right way

We all should enjoy this era for the Pistons. Being a Pistons fan has never been so stress-free! We no longer have any expectations for contention so there is no need to yank your hairs out if the team is losing. That is exactly what is expected to happen and what we hope will continue to happen.

If we lose, we are improving our draft position to hopefully get a top-three draft pick in the offseason. If we win, then you can feel good watching the young players and dreaming about the potential future. As of the time of writing this article, the Pistons have not been doing a lot of winning, as they are currently 2-9, but as I mentioned this is exactly where we want to be. We have a young roster that competes every night and is interesting to watch but still loses.

While the ultimate goal is obviously to win a championship and we are far from that. These next few losing seasons of gaining high draft picks, developing young players, and stashing assets will hopefully be the first step in the right direction towards eventual contention.

So instead of watching the game and fixating yourself on the score, completely ignore the score and instead pay attention to how each player performs individually.

We have no way of knowing how many of the players currently on the Pistons roster will be around in the future.

What we do know is that whether the player develops into a piece for our future or they get flipped for a piece for our future, the Pistons seem like they are finally headed towards building a contender.

For years, retooling was the name of the game. Keep the same core, make slight changes, and hope for internal improvement.

Now the Pistons have finally entered a full-blown rebuild and it should have Pistons fans excited for the future!
