Detroit Pistons stock exchange: Who is trending in the right direction?
The Detroit Pistons are trending up after a nice win over Miami.
The Detroit Pistons have been one of the pleasant surprises of the NBA. No, they are not winning a lot but they are competitive and things are finally starting to look hopeful.
The Pistons are getting big contributions from their young players and their veterans are starting to round into form.
The Pistons are in a great spot, as they are trying to tank but do it the right way, teaching their young guys how to play basketball while giving themselves a chance to get a top pick.
But it’s nice to see them win once in a while, as they did against a shorthanded Miami team.
There are Pistons who are trending up, a couple who are trending down and few who are still too early to call.
Let’s start with the guys who are looking better but are still in the early stages of what could be called a trend.
Detroit Pistons: Will Sekou Doumbouya play more?
Early stages of a trend
It is too early to say that Blake Griffin is trending in the right direction. He is still not playing particularly well and still looks to be trying to play his way into game shape.
But the Alpha Ginger looked much better this week. His shooting is starting to come around, he’s been grabbing rebounds and his defense has been slightly less terrible.
He didn’t shoot well against the Heat but grabbed seven rebounds and added eight assists, showing that he can contribute in myriad ways. Let’s hope this continues.
Sekou Doumbouya finally got off the bench against the Miami Heat, which is a step in the right direction. He played 17 mostly-effective minutes against the Heat and had a couple of nice takes to the rim.
Doumbouya may have done enough to earn himself some more time moving forward, which is a step in the right direction.
